How to Become a Success Mentor!
To complete the Success Mentor application and be considered for a Success Mentor position for the 2019-2020 academic year, all the following must be submitted by 11:59pm, Tuesday, February 19th:
- Complete an online application at jobs.ucmerced.edu (you will need to upload a current resume)
- Complete a Supplemental Application - click HERE
- Please complete the Supplemental Application by February 19th!
- Request a supervisor, mentor, faculty member, etc. submit a Recommendation Form - success_mentor_1920_recommendation_form.pdf
- You must have two forms completed
- All forms must be signed
- All forms must be submitted by the person completing the recommendation
- Signed & scanned documents can be sent to successmentors@ucmerced.edu

Recruitment Timeline
Candidates being considered for a position will be contacted between February 21-22 to schedule an interview. Interviews will take place February 28 - March 5. Finalists will be invited to participate in a group process interview between March 7-8. Notification letters will be distributed on Tuesday, March 12th in the Bright Success Center.
Training Information
Participation in training is required for all Success Mentors as follows:
- Spring, 2018 - April 16, 17, & 18 (9am-3pm)
- Summer, 2018 - August 19-23, 26 & 27 (9am-5pm)
- Spring, 2019 - January 9-10
Additional Requirements
All Success Mentors must meet the following requirements as well:
- In good academic and judicial standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00)
- Available to attend weekly SMP meetings throughout the 19-20 academic year (Friday's, 12:30-2:30pm)
